Paris to face Aalborg

The draw for the semi-finals of the EHF Final4 took place on Tuesday morning. Paris Saint-Germain Handball now know their next opponents!

Les Rouge et Bleu will face Aalborg - a side they know well from their four Champions League meetings since 2017. For the moment, our team lead the head-to-head record with 100% wins. But it will of course not be an easy task against a side that have had a strong European campaign that includes toppling Flensburg in the previous round. Meanwhile, in the other semi-final, Barcelona will face Nantes. The event will take place on 12 (semi-finals) and 13 (finals) June at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne.

Raul Gonzalez (Coach - Paris Saint-Germain Handball):
"Now that we know we will face Aalborg, we have to focus on this opponent. In the Final4, there are the four best teams in Europe so it will be a difficult match. There will be a lot of pressure. We still have time to prepare for this face-off, but before that, we have a French Champions title to go after. "

Luka Karabatic (Captain - Paris Saint-Germain Handball):
"Every year, the Champions League is one of our major objectives. We want to reach the Final4 every year. This time, we were able to do it by beating defending champions THW Kiel. However, this does not guarantee that we will win the competition. Once again, we will have to play two very good games in a weekend to win the trophy.
"We will face a team that have a little less experience in this kind of competition. But they have players who have already played in a Champions League semi-final. The presence of Aalborg shows that Danish handball is progressing year by year and is approaching the level of its national team, which is one of the best in the world. So they also have a good chance of winning."
