Paris go two for two in Japan

On Wednesday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball ended their training camp in Tokyo. Two days after their victory over Zeekstar (27-36), Les Rouge et Bleu were back on the court of the Arieka Arena for a clash with the Japanese national team.

Having taken the measure of the Japanese style of play against Zeekstar, the Parisians needed no feeling out period in this game. Between Jannick Green's saves and the capital club's attacking efficiency, the visitors quickly took control of the match. However, the home side played their cards close to their chest and delighted their fans with a number of fine goals. But it was Raul Gonzalez's men who were in control of the game, with several counter-attacks converted into goals. After a well-controlled first half, Paris returned to the dressing room with a healthy lead (30': 13-21).

At the start of the second half, Les Rouge et Bleu continued to dominate proceedings, but now had to contend with a Japan team looking to hit back with a vengeance.Β  Spurred on by their fans, they made up some ground, but did not look to be in a position to level it up. Raul Gonzalez's men made the most of every mistake, both offensively and defensively. Unfortunately, the second round was marred by an injury to Yoann Gibelin, who had to be stretchered off the court. We'll be waiting to hear from our left-back by sending him a post-match message. In the dying moments of the game, Andreas Palicka's net didn't shake even once. On the other hand, the Parisian attack made no mistake and Paris Saint-Germain Handball ended its tour of Japan with a victory (60': 24-39).
