Our internationals round out World Cup preparations

Several Paris Saint-Germain Handball players were on national team duty over the last few days, and our players look ready for the 2023 World Cup, which will be held in Sweden and Poland from 11 to 29 January.

NETHERLANDS - CZECH REPUBLIC: 30-33

Beaten by France a few days earlier (43-32), the Netherlands took part in the Tourney de France's third-place play-off on Saturday. Luc Steins and his teammates faced the Czech Republic, who had lost against Egypt (33-30). Despite a goal from our centre-half, his team lost once again. They will start their World Cup, against Argentina, on 13 January.

SPAIN - BAHRAIN: 34-21

Spain and Ferran Sole Sala finished their preparations with a spotless record. In their last match at the International Tournament of Spain, they clinched a win against Romania (42-29) and La Roja followed with another win, over Bahrain. Rouge et Bleu right-winger Ferran scored three goals in the first match and this time he scored five times. The Spaniards will face Montenegro in their first game of the World Cup on 12 January.

SWEDEN - SERBIA: 35-34

Finally, the Swedes faced Serbia, at the Sparbanken Skane Arena in Lund. The game was no walk in the park for the reigning European Champions, who had to fight hard for the win. Andreas Palicka's team were two points behind at the break (30': 15-17), but they turned the situation around in the second half and won by one point. The second leg of their double-header against Serbia takes place this Monday. Three days later, the serious business will begin on home soil, against Brazil.
