Nikola Karabatic extends his contract with Paris

Having arrived in the capital in July 2015, the three-time Olympic champion has won six French championships in the Red and Blue colours, but also a Coupe de France, three Coupes de la Ligue and two Trophées des Champions. In Paris, he has become the most successful player in Starligue history, with a total of 13 titles. The number 44 has played 238 top-flight matches for the capital club and scored 854 goals. 

With the French national team, the native of Nis (Serbia) has scored 1238 goals in 324 appearances, winning every possible trophy and etching his name even deeper into handball history winning an incredible third a Olympic gold medal in Tokyo in the summer. Only eight French athletes have won gold three times at the summer Olympics.

Nikola Karabatic has also been voted best player in the world three times (2007, 2014, 2016) by the International Handball Federation (IHF). In the history of the sport, only he and his teammate at Paris Saint-Germain, Mikkel Hansen, have achieved such a performance.

“I am very happy to continue the adventure in the Red and Blue jersey for another season," said Nikola Karabatic, after signing his contract. “There was a deep desire to extend our collaboration. The past year, and my long convalescence, have strengthened my attachment to Paris Saint-Germain. Thanks to the staff, I was able to return to the court - in full possession of my abilities - with my Parisian teammates and then join the French team that won the Olympic title in Tokyo.
