Niko finishes group stage on a high
Despite Paris Saint-Germain Handball defeat to Veszprém (39-40), Nikola Karabatic turned in an excellent performance and was included in the Best 7 for EHF Champions League Matchday 14.
The French international was simply breathtaking. Against former teammate Rodrigo Corrales, who was excellent, our centre-half showed every bit of his legendary skill as he fired an 8 from 12. The performance that was all the more impressive when you consider the very close attention he received from the Hungarian side's defenders; Niko scored two stylish goals (including a chabala) after having resisted heavy challenges.
Beyond his offensive statistics, Niko also distinguished himself at the other end of the court with the kind of defensive dedication that he has shown throughout his career. Unsurprisingly, he was named in the Best 7 for the matchday.
