Nedim Remili: 'I trust this team'

After winning the Coupe de la Ligue, Nedim Remili sat down to talk with us about Paris Saint-Germain Handball's upcoming matches. Our right-back notably discussed the Velux EHF Champions League.

Psg.fr: Last week, you won the Coupe de la Ligue's Final4 . Is that a good way to prepare for the Velux EHF Champions League's Final4?

Nedim Remili: The Champions League is different... it comes at the end of the season after a lot of tough matches ad you're generally pretty tired by then. Still, if we book a spot and do well in the semi-final as we did in the Coupe de la Ligue, which left us fresh for the final on Sunday, then it will be great. But in that kind of event, you can't really afford to economise on your efforts.

In order to get there, you'll need to win your quarter-final. Are you keeping an eye on the round of 16?

Of course! We'll be encouraging Nantes against the Rhein-Neckar Löwen, because we like to get behind all the French teams. We'll also be watching the match that concerns us, between Zaporozhye and Kielce. It will be a chance to study our future opponent. But we can't focus on it overly, as we have a strong of other important matches coming up in the next few weeks.

So would it be ideal to stitch up the Lidl Starligue title as quickly as possible so you can approach your important matches with clear heads?

We have a considerable lead over our rivals, so I hope we can clinch the title before the Final4 - that would mean we've had an excellent season. After that, we'll need to impose ourselves in Cologne, as we have tried to do for the past three seasons - unfortunately without success. But I trust this team to keep fighting in search of Europe's top prize."

You're recovering from a shoulder injury. Do you feel that you're back to 100%?

It's much better, but I'm not back to my maximum yet. I came back pretty quickly even though I should probably have stayed out of action for longer. I was lucky enough to heal up quickly and I'm happy that I got a chance to help my teammates in the Coupe de la Ligue. I hope to get back to 100% very soon so I can improve my individual performances and in so doing help the team."
