Les Rouge et Bleu take derby honours in Tremblay

Comptes-rendus

On Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain Handball won a spectacular match (32-40) at neighbouring Tremblay. Here's a look back at the Liqui Moly StarLigue Matchday 4 clash.

Three days after a buzzer-beating 23-24 win over Plock in the Champions League, Les Rouge et Bleu returned to Liqui Moly StarLigue action. For this fourth matchday, Paris took to the road again, making the short trip to Tremblay, who are back in the top flight after a three-season absence. The aim was clear for Raul Gonzalez's men: to continue their unbeaten run in the league and build their confidence in this fast-paced start to the season.

Spurred on by the home crowd, Tremblay took the initiative in the opening minutes, but were thwarted by Andreas Palicka, who continued the fine form he showed in Plock (4': 1-1). In attack, it was once again Elohim Prandi who made the difference, with four goals to his name after just ten minutes (10': 4-6). After a tight first quarter of an hour, Les Rouge et Bleu responded well and were able to draw on all their strengths to stay in front, as evidenced by Léo Plantin's fine strike on the run (15': 9-11).

Seizing his chance, the right-winger of the evening found Luc Steins, who extended the lead and forced Tremblay to call a time-out (21': 12-15). The Parisians showed great attacking prowess in the first half and increased their lead as the minutes went by, helped by Kamil Syprzak's flawless performance from the penalty line (27': 18-13). After a first period rich in goals, the capital club went into the break four goals to the good (30': 16-20).

After the break, Tremblay came out looking to hit back and managed to make up some of the deficit (32': 20-21). Jannick Green, who had just come on as a substitute, pulled off a fine save to keep Paris two goals clear (36': 22-24). Just as the Paris-region side levelled it, Paris redoubled their intensity and turned the tide immediately thanks to the power of Elohim Prandi, whose effort found the top corner of Cyril Dumoulin's net (43': 27-28).

Paris could count on their attacking armada and Jannick's efficiency to keep them on course (45': 27-30). Kamil broke his personal league record with a 14th goal of the evening (from 15 attempts) to extend his side's lead (49': 22-33). The home side refused to give up, but they were no match for our Danish 'keeper, who saved a penalty to bring up his tenth stop of the evening - the perfect way to celebrate his birthday (56': 30-37)! At the end of a spectacular encounter, Raul Gonzalez's men were victorious and maintained their unbeaten status in the league (60': 32-40). Next week, Paris return to Coubertin for another Ile-de-France derby, this time against Ivry.
