Les Parisiens pick up wins at the World Cup

On Wednesday, Ferran Solé Sala's Spain and Andreas Palicka's Sweden were in action at the World Cup 2023. Luc Steins' Netherlands were in action again on Thursday. The three teams were all victorious.

SPAIN - PolAND: 27-23

Another win for La Roja! After winning their first three matches, they completed the perfect start to the Main Round with a victory over Poland. And as so often, Spain were able to count on the Paris Saint-Germain winger, who picked up two goals (from his four efforts). Spain now sit top of the group with six points, the same number as France.

SWEDEN - HUNGARY: 37-28

Sweden were impressive once again! In the Scandinavium Arena in Gothenburg, the host country (with Poland) came out as clear winners over Hungary. Helped on their way by the nine goals from Hampus Wanne, Andreas' teammates demonstrated their attacking prowess! In the same way as Spain, Sweden have had a perfect stat to the Main Round and are currently topping their group with six points.

Qatar - NETHERLANDS: 30-32

The Dutch side had to find a way past a determined Qatar team! Despite an effective Luc Steins (two out of two), the Netherlands struggled throughout the first half and were trailing by four at the break (30’: 19-15). But in the second period, they were able to turn the tide and take the lead. The final minutes of the encounter made the difference, and it was the Parisian's teammates that came out on top. In the standings, the Netherlands now sit in third spot of their group with four points on the board. Ahead of them, Germany and Norway both have six points each.
