Henrik Toft Hansen: 'Everyone played well'

On Thursday night, Paris Saint-Germain Handball turned in an excellent performance away to Chambéry (21-30) in Lidl Starligue Round 18 action. Jesus Gonzalez, Adama Keita and Henrik Toft Hansen gave us their thoughts on the match, in particular concerning Les Rouge et Bleus' tactics in defence.

Jesus Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball assistant coach):

"This was a very important win. I think the key to the match was our defence. In a 5-1 formation, we played pretty well, with Uwe Gensheimer and Henrik Toft Hansen up front. When the defence plays well like Haye did tonight, things are much easier for our 'keeper. Now we have a weekend off and we'll have a chance to recover a bit."

Adama Keita (Paris Saint-Germain Handball left-winger):

"We were strong in every department. We really put the coach's instructions into practice and it worked well. We obliged Chambéry to take risks and that led to our scoring on the counter. We have been working on this defensive approach for a while now, even though we don't use it that often. It allows us to break forward very quickly. We're happy and now we have a short break before the final stretch of the season."

Henrik Toft Hansen (Paris Saint-Germain Handball pivot):

"It was a tough match against a tenacious opponent. Our opponents were very fast and ran a lot. But I think we turned in an excellent performance tonight. Everyone played well. We have been working on this defensive system in training. It gives us options during a match. Now we have a few days to rest up and enjoy our families. That's great, as we have some important matches coming up."
