Group A results

Thanks to their victory against Zagreb (40-31), Paris Saint-Germain Handball stay in second spot in Group B. Check out the other Matchday 4 results from the group.

BUCHAREST - PORTO: 32-27

With one draw and two defeats in three games, Dinamo Bucharest had a great opportunity to take off as they hosted a team with zero points, Porto. After a tight first half (30': 13-12), the hosts made the difference in the second half. Thanks to Ali Zein's ten goals, the Romanians secured their first win of the campaign and duly climbed to fifth place. The Portuguese sit at the foot of the table.

MAGDEBURG - PLOCK: 33-27

After a good start, Madgeburg saw their momentum stopped last week against Les Rouge et Bleu (22-29). The Germans were therefore expected to bounce back when they played host to Plock, who also started the campaign well. The game was tight for a long time (33-27) - until Mike Jensen took over. The Danish 'keeper proved the bane of the Polish offensive line with no fewer than 11 saves. At the other end of the court, Kay Smits and Gisli Kristjansson finished off their goalkeeper's work with eight strikes each. Magdeburg therefore remain in third place, with the same number of points as Paris, just ahead of Plock on four.

GOG - VESZPRÉM: 30-31

Finally, group leaders Veszprém wanted to continue their perfect record in the group phase. But while they went to GOG as favourites, the game was no walk in the park for the Hungarians. In fact, with less than four minutes to go, it was the Danes who were in the lead (56': 29-28). Fortunately for the visitors, the home side flagged in the final minutes... before Petar Nenadic scored in the final seconds and Rodrigo Corrales saved on the buzzer to give the victory to their team.
