Group A results

After the capital club's fine victory in Plock on Thursday evening (23-24), check out the rest of the results from EHF Champions League Matchday 3.

Sporting CP 39-30 Veszprém

The Lisbon giants continue to impress in this group phase. Having already won their first two matches, Sporting inflicted a first defeat of the EHF Champions League season on Veszprém. With the best attack and defence after three rounds, the Portuguese are the unexpected leaders and could make it four in a row if they beat Pelister in Northern Macedonia next time out. The Hungarians, meanwhile, have come to a halt after two wins in the opening rounds of this 2024-2025 edition, and will have their work cut out against Bucharest on Matchday 4.

Dinamo Bucharest 34-25 Eurofarm Pelister

The Romanians continued their perfect start to their Champions League comeback after a season's absence. Faced with a Pelister side still searching for their first-ever point in the competition, David Davis's side did nothing by halves. The scoreline could have been heavier had it not been for Nikola Mitrevski's 14 saves. The Macedonians will have the tough task of trying to put an end to 17 consecutive defeats on the continental stage when they host Sporting.

Fredericia 32-38 Füchse Berlin

Les Rouge et Bleus' Matchday 4 opponents Fredericia are in dire straits at the start of their European campaign. Faced with Füchse Berlin, the Danes conceded their third defeat in a row and paid for their inexperience (Gudmundur Gudmundsson's men having qualified for Europe for the first time in their history). Faced with a German attacking armada featuring the likes of Lasse Andersson (8 goals) and Mathias Gidsel (7 goals), Fredericia were no easy beats, managing to draw level at half-time (30': 17-17). But they fell behind in the second half. Buoyed by the efficiency of Dejan Milosavljev, who made 12 saves to go top of the Champions League saves chart, Berlin are coming off back-to-back wins as they head into their clash with Plock in a fortnight's time.
