Group A results

Paris Saint-Germain Handball lost 26-24 away to Kiel on Thursday in EHF Champions League Matchday 9. Check out the rest of the results from Group A.

ZAGREB - SZEGED: 30-25

To kick off Matchday 9, Zagreb hosted Szeged in a decisive match in the race for the last 16. Three points behind their opponents before throw-off, the Croatians had to win to stay on the right track. And they did! After a strong first half (30': 17-12), the home side confirmed their very important victory in the last 30 minutes. They remain in the drop zone, but are just one point behind the Hungarians, who are currently sixth.

KOLSTAD - AALBORG: 18-29

It was an eagerly awaited clash between two sides who have been in fine form in recent weeks. In this Scandinavian duel, the Danes showed their supremacy by putting in an excellent performance away from home, as they had done two matchdays earlier in Kiel (18-27). Niklas Landin's 11 saves and Mads Hoxer Hangaard's six goals helped Les Rouge et Bleus' future opponents to a convincing victory over the Norwegians. Aalborg are now second in the group, one point behind Kiel, while Kolstad are fourth.

KIELCE - PELISTER: 35-25

Last but not least, Kielce played host to a Pelister side who have yet to notch a point in this European campaign. The Poles never wavered in an extremely well-controlled game, a performance exemplified by Haukur Thrastarson's 7 from 7. Kielce are third, with the same number of points as Aalborg, while Pelister remain in last place with zero points, nine points off the qualifying places.
