Group A results

Paris Saint-Germain Handball got their EHF Champions League season off to a flying start with a 29-31 win in Szeged on Thursday evening. Find out the other results from Group A.

Kielce - Aalborg: 31-34

The group got off to a high-octane start with a clash between Kielce and Aalborg. The Poles were virtually impregnable in their Hala Legionow, but were thwarted by a fine Scandinavian side led by former Parisian Mikkel Hansen. The Danish left-back was his team's top scorer with seven goals. Szymon Sicko's 11 goals were also among the top scorers, but in the end they were not enough to win the game for Kielce.

Zagreb - Kiel: 23-30

For their part, Kiel kept a tight rein on Zagreb. The Germans never looked in danger and were already well ahead at the break (30': 9-16). In front of their home crowd, the Croatians had a better second half and managed to draw the last 30 minutes. The Zebras are off to a perfect start to their European campaign, thanks in part to the superb performance of Patrick Wiencek, scorer of eight goals (from nine attempts) and voted best pivot of the week.

Pelister - Kolstad: 22-31

The final game in this group pitted two teams new to the competition against each other: Macedonia's Pelister played host to Norway's Kolstad. Here, too, we find a former Les Rouge et Bleu representative, with Sander Sagosen returning to his homeland this summer (from Kiel). But it was his partner, left winger Adrian Aalberg, who stood out the most in front of goal and helped his side kick off their European adventure with a win away from home.
