Group A results

Thanks to their victory in Plock (26-32), Paris Saint-Germain Handball took top spot in EHF Champions League Group A. Check out the rest of the group's Matchday 13 results.

ZAGREB - MAGDEBURG: 25-31

On Wednesday evening, Magdeburg had the opportunity to take a big step towards the quarter-finals. To do so, they had to win away to a Zagreb side fighting for a place in the last 16. Led by the excellent Kay Smits, who fired a 9 from 10, the Germans were in control and took two important points. They now sit in second place and will stay there if they can win next week at home to Bucharest. The Croatians are in sixth place with a game in hand.

VESZPRÉM - PORTO: 32-30

Veszprém had a scare, but got the job done. On Thursday afternoon, the Hungarians could not afford to make a mistake at home, otherwise their hopes of finishing second in the group (directly qualifying for the quarters) would be dashed. After a long fight (40': 21-21), the hosts managed to make the difference in the last 20 minutes. A success that they owe largely to Yehia El-Deraa, who managed to score 12 times. Veszprém will have to do better at Coubertin than Magdeburg did against Bucharest in order to move up to second.

DINAMO BUCHAREST - GOG: 30-27

Dinamo Bucharest will also be in the round of 16! The Romanians played a great game against GOG and won. Saeid Heidarirad made 15 saves and Ante Kuduz scored nine goals. The victory brings Bucharest level with their opponents on the night, but they remain in fifth place due to an inferior goal difference. On the final matchday, the Danes will play host to Zagreb, while Dinamo will travel to Magdeburg.
