Group A results

Here we go again for the EHF Champions League! While Paris Saint-Germain Handball travelled to Veszprém (36-34), check out the other Matchday 1 results from Group A.

WISLA PLOCK - PORTO: 27-23

On Thursday evening, the future European opponent of Les Rouge et Bleu, Wisla Plock, hosted Porto. The Poles hit hard, especially thanks to new recruit Gonzalo Perez Arce. The Spanish right-winger, in his first Champions League match with Plock, turned in a superb performance, scoring with seven of his eight attempts. The Portuguese were already behind at the break (30': 14-10) and never managed to catch up.

DINAMO BUCAREST - MAGDEBURG: 28-30

After a 16-year absence, Magdeburg returned to the EHF Champions League at Dinamo Bucharest. And the Germans did themselves proud! In Romania, the match was very open and competitive (30': 16-16) and with less than ten minutes to go, all scenarios remained possible (52': 26-26). But in the final moments, the local side lost their cutting edge while the visitors shone on almost all their offensives to finally win, after a very strong end to the game from Gisli Thorgeir Kristjansson (5 from 5 in total).

Zagreb - GOG : 27-31

Also back in the Champions League, Gudme Oure Gudbjerg (GOG) were brilliant too! The Danes went to Zagreb on this opening day and played 30 minutes close to perfection (30': 12-18). In the second half, they managed their lead very well and started their European campaign in the best way. In terms of individuals, Lukas Jorgensen's 5 from 5 was particularly noteworthy.
