Four Parisians in international action
The international break is hardly a break for Paris Saint-Germain Handball's stars - especially our internationals, four of whom were in action for their respective national teams on Wednesday.
France - Denmark: 33-32
This was definitely the clash of the week. Played in Lyon, this confrontation between France and Denmark was the first leg of their EHF Cup semi-final tie. In a match that lived up to the occasion, it was the Frenchmen who got the better of a Denmark side that had gone unbeaten for over a year. The main tormentor of the Scandinavian outfit was none other than left-back Elohim Prandi. Firing a 7 from 9, Elo' showed Parisian team-mates Jannick Green (two saves) and Jacob Holm (two goals) no mercy. Les Bleus now take a one-goal advantage into the return leg in Kolding, Denmark, on Saturday.
Faroe Islands - Netherlands: 32-32
It didn't work out for the Netherlands, but they can take comfort in the fact that it could have been worse. Trailing the Faroe Islands by four goals at half-time (30': 18-14), the Oranjes played a much better second half and could even have won it, had it not been for Leivur Mortensen's equaliser on the buzzer. Without Luc Steins, but with Dani Baijens (5 from 8), the Dutch did enough to retiain top spot in Euro 2026 qualifying Group 6. The return leg will take place in Almere, the Netherlands, on Saturday afternoon.
