Five things on PSG Handball - Limoges

Heading into the international break, Paris Saint-Germain Handball have one last Lidl Starligue match to take care of, taking on promoted Limoges, who sit in second, at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin on Saturday afternoon.

Top-of-the-table clash
There is little doubt that this clash between the league leaders Paris and second-placed Limoges will live up to its promise, such has been the quality shown by the two sides in the early stages of the campaign. While Les Rouge et Bleu have clocked five wins in as many games, Limoges can be satisfied with their first six outings in the top flight, where they have scored four victories, a draw and a defeat. Their Round 6 win over Nantes (32-31)clearly showed all this team's considerable qualities.

An elite squad
Runners-up in the Proligue last season when the championship was prematurely halted, the Limougeauds won the right to move up to the country's elite, and when you look at their squad, you can see that they fit perfectly into the Lidl StarLigue environment. And with good reason, since many of their players have already played there - notably 'keeper Yassine Idrissi, part of Créteil's glory days on top of having represented Nîmes and Toulouse, but also Julien Emonet, Juan Andreau, Micke Brasseleur, Jérémy Suty and Romain Ternel - not to mention the indestructible Dragan Gajic.

Gajic the trigger man
The former Montpellier man (2011-2015) returned to France this summer after a four-year stint with Hungarian giants Veszprém. The move has paid off, too, the 36-year-old currently topping the league's scoring chart with 55 strikes, including 13 against Cesson-Rennes. He is thus well on the way to reliving past glories like those in season 2013-14, when he scored 192 goals for Montpellier (86 in the EHF Champions League in that same season). Unsurprisingly, he should be one of the main dangers in the LH attack.

Key stats
Saturday's duel will pit two free-scoring teams against each other. Limoges sit in fourth place on the attacking table with 173 goals scored in six games while, despite having a match in hand, Raul Gonzalez's men top the same table with 186 goals. In addition to Gajic, the visitors can count on Brasseleur, who is in the Top 20 on the scoring chart (20 goals). In front of him are two Parisians, Kamil Syprzak (25) and Mikkel Hansen (28).
