Benoit Kounkoud: 'We know what we're doing wrong'

On Sunday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball lost their Trophée des Champions third-place play-off in a penalty shot-out with Nantes (45-46). The Rouge et Bleu can draw plenty of lessons from the result, however, according to Benoît Kounkoud, Thierry Omeyer and Raul Gonzalez.

Benoît Kounkoud (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-winger):
"We came back hard in the second half. But we didn't manage to make the break and you pay for that sort of mistake against teams like this one. It's up to us to learn our lesson… When you wear the Paris shirt, you do so with winning in mind, so of course we're disappointed. Still, there were some positives to take from this match. We know what we're doing wrong."

Raul Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball coach):
"We started the match well, but after 15 minutes, they started to attack with seven players we struggled to defend. We don't have much time to prepare for our match against Ivry, but we'll be ready and we will kick our Lidl StarLigue campaign off on positive note."

Thierry Omeyer (Paris Saint-Germain Handball 'keeper):
"We were up and down for the whole match. Nantes stymied our attacks well by playing with seven outfielders. We saw that we still have things to improve in order to be consistent over 60 minutes. On Wednesday, against Ivry, we'll be playing at home, so we're very happy to be playing in front of our fans once again. We have our hearts set on playing a great match!"
