On Wednesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain Handball take part in the first leg of the EHF Champions League quarter-finals. On this occasion, the capital club pay host to German giants Kiel at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin.

THE EHF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE JOURNEY

After finishing second in Group A (behind Aalborg), the Germans qualified directly for the quarter-finals of the competition. They finished their group phase with ten wins, one draw and three defeats.

The Parisians had to go through the round of 16 after finishing third in Group B. Les Rouge et Bleu faced off against Elverum in the round of 16 where, after a draw in the first leg in Norway (30-30), they fought hard in the return leg at Coubertin to punch their ticket for the quarters (37-30).

DANGER MEN

This match will be see Paris Saint-Germain and former Parisian Sander Sagosen reunited again. The Norwegian centre-half has already scored 52 goals in the competition this season, and the German club will also be able to count on 'keeper Niklas Landin (best player in the world in 2019 and 2021).

REPRISE

The last time the two clubs met, it was also in the quarterfinals of EHF Champions League. The Parisians lost in Germany (31-29), before winning the return match in their own arena (34-28) - a victory that booked them a spot in Cologne and the EHF Final4.

HEAD TO HEAD
