Two days after beating Zeekstar Tokyo 31-29, Paris Saint-Germain Handball concluded their pre-season tour of Japan with a final friendly match. Les Rouge et Bleu faced the Japanese national team, once again at a packed Yoyogi National Stadium.
Despite strong local opposition, the Parisians took an early lead. Ferran Sole Sala and Gautier Loredon were responsible for their team's good start, succeeding in almost everything they set out to do. Spurred on by their fans, Japan managed to slow down the Parisian acceleration, but they could not stop it. After several successful counter-attacks towards the end of the first period, Raul Gonzalez's men went back into the locker room with a five-point lead and their team play really taking shape (30': 19-14).
Right from the restart, the capital club continued to dominate. Led by the power of Elohim Prandi, the skill of Kamil Syprzak and the saves of Jannick Green, they began to pull further clear. The new recruits also shone, with Yahia Omar scoring a penalty. Towards the end of the match, the Japanese put on a show for their fans. Enough to maintina the electric atmosphere, but not enough to catch up. Paris Saint-Germain Handball therefore concluded their Tokyo tour with another victory (37-31). The next meeting will be an official one, against Nantes in the Trophée des Champions final at the Arena Futuroscope on Saturday 31 August.
