Born in Brescia, Lombardy, in 2004, Cher Ndour took his first steps in football with San Giacomo before joining the Brescia youth academy at the age of 5 and later moving to Atalanta at the age of 9. Early on, he was recognized as one of the most promising young Italians of his generation, attracting the interest of numerous clubs as he approached his 16th birthday. He ultimately joined Benfica Lisbon in 2020, signing his first professional contract.

Ndour made his professional debut with Benfica's reserve team on 2 May 2021. At just 16 years and 279 days old, he became the youngest player in Benfica B’s history, surpassing the record held by João Félix. In the following season, the young midfielder established himself as a regular starter in the second division team while also shining with the under-19 squad, especially in the Youth League, which Benfica won. He scored goals in the group stage against Bayern and Barcelona and stood out in the final, scoring in the victory over RB Salzburg. In 2022, the Italian also faced the Paris Saint-Germain Titis during the group stage.

Following promising performances with the youth teams, Ndour made his debut for Benfica's senior team on 18 March 2023, coming on as a substitute in a Portuguese league match against Vitoria Guimarães. He played a part in his team's league title win on the final day of the season after a fierce battle with Porto. At the age of 18, he took a new turn in his career by signing with Paris Saint-Germain during the summer transfer window of 2023.
