Uruguay beat the US to finish top of their group
Manuel Ugarte’s Uruguay earned a 1-0 win over the United States last night on Matchday 3 of the 2024 CONMEBOL Copa América group stage.
Ugarte featured for almost the entire match, coming off in the 89th minute. This result means that Uruguay finish top of Group C, ahead of Panama, while their American hosts are now out of the competition.
La Celeste are set to play their quarter-final at 03:00 CET next Monday against the second-placed team in Group D, which could well be Brazil.
