Thomas Tuchel: 'A great reaction'
Thomas Tuchel, Thiago Silva and Moussa Diaby gave their thoughts on Paris Saint-Germain's Coupe de la Ligue progress with Tuesday's 2-1 win at Orléans.
Thomas Tuchel (Paris Saint-Germain coach)
"We showed our mental strength. That's important. We took it seriously. The conditions were tough. There were a lot of obstacles to overcome here: the weather, the wind, the ball, the pitch...it wasn't easy, but the team did their job thoroughly and deserved the win. It was tricky after Orléans scored, but we had a great reaction."
Thiago Silva (Paris Saint-Germain defender)
"The most important thing was to qualify. It was difficult to play because the pitch wasn't in a good state. Orléans managed to equalise after a technical error. But we stayed calm and kept playing. We tried to control the game until the end and Moussa Diaby's great individual effort allowed us to reach the quarter-finals."
Moussa Diaby (Paris Saint-Germain forward)
"We came up against a good Orléans team, they were solid, compact and hungry. We managed to stay focussed, play well and stick to what the coach had planned. I said to myself I had to contribute something to the team. The coach told me to play off the two attackers, to try my luck. That's what I tried to do and it came off."
