Thiago Silva: 'Here to win'

The Paris Saint-Germain defender is in bullish mood ahead of Friday's Coupe de France final against Saint-Etienne.

FINAL

"This Coupe de France is very important. We know Saint-Etienne's history in the competition. Even for the league, they're an iconic club. We have a lot of respect for them, they beat Rennes - the holders - in the semis. We must respect them and think about how we lost last year, and do everything to win this final. When you wear the Paris Saint-Germain shirt, there's pressure, because you're here to win. It's normal. It will be a special moment for both teams, who'll be motivated. We'll respect them and try to do our jobs."

FITNESS

"I feel tiredness just like everyone else. It's normal after being stopped for four months, you get tired more quickly and it's not easy to get back to your very top level quickly. Little by little, we're making progress physically. We have an experienced team, with quality and intelligent players. We have had some time to prepare, but it's not enough, and it's the same for both teams. It'll be a final, the two teams will be motivated. We'll have to put some intensity into this game to make Saint-Etienne run around, because they're a good team defensively."

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

"We only spoke about the Champions League on the day of the draw. After that, we haven't, because we have to live in the present. We'll think about the future later. We're focussed on Friday's final, we'll think about Lyon after that, and then Atalanta. We're thinking about this first final, which is important for the club's history."
