Everything on Paris Saint-Germain vs AS Saint-Etienne!

Find out everything you need to know ahead of tonight's Coupe de France final between Paris Saint-Germain and AS Saint-Etienne at the Stade de France!

A little history...

The clash will be the 87th official match between Paris Saint-Germain and Saint-Etienne, the balance sheet is largely in the Parisians favour with 47 wins, 26 draws and 13 losses.

Paris Saint-Germain have played 19 official matches against Saint-Etienne (15 wins and 4 draws) without the slightest setback since their quarter-final elimination in the Coupe de la Ligue quarter-finals against Les Verts on 27 November 2012 (0-0, 3-5 on penalties). The club's all-time record of 22 games without defeat against Angers, is not far off.

34 players have worn the colours of both clubs: Alex Dias, José Aloisio, Jérôme Alonzo, Jean-Christophe Bahebeck, Dominique Bathenay, Mathieu Bodmer, Yohan Cabaye, Zoumana Camara, Dominique Casagrande, Jéremy Clément, Grégory Coupet, Mevlut Erding, Laurent Fournier, David Hellebuyck, Robert Jacques, Gérard Janvion, Christophe Landrin, Jean-Michel Larqué, Thierry Laurey, Francis Llacer, Blaise Matuidi, Roland Mitoraj, Bernard Pardo, Stéphane Pédron, Lionel Potillon, Cyril Pouget, Philippe Redon, Dominique Rocheteau, Daniel Sanchez, Liazid Sandjak, Jean-Luc Sassus, Jean-Philippe Séchet, Siaka Tiené and Jean-Luc Vasseur.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the top scorer for Paris against Les Verts with 14 goals, followed by Edinson Cavani (12 goals) and Mustapha Dahleb (11 goals).

The stakes...

With 28 goals scored, François M'Pelé is Paris Saint-Germain's top scorer in the Coupe de France. He is ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Pedro Miguel Pauleta (16 goals), Safet Susic (15 goals), Edinson Cavani and Mustapha Dahleb (14 goals).

Paris Saint-Germain will also play their 238th Coupe de France match tonight, with a record of 168 wins, 28 draws and 41 defeats, an average of 70 per cent wins (a defeat on penalties is statistically considered a draw).

In Coupe de France finals, the record is exceptional: 17 finals for 12 wins since the creation of the club, or 70% of success.

At the Stade de France, Paris Saint-Germain will be taking part in their 19th final since 1998, with a record of 13 wins and 5 defeats.

More stakes!

With 12 wins, Paris Saint-Germain is the record holder for Coupe de France victories, ahead of Marseille (10 wins). The Parisians, who are still in the running for an historic quintuple (Champions Trophy, Ligue 1, French Cup, League Cup, Champions League) will also want to erase the memory of last season’s final defeat to Rennes 2-2 (5-6 on pens.) on 27 April 2019).

Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Marco Verratti and Presnel Kimpembe* could win their 5th French Cup and equal the record held to date in this competition by Lille's Marceau Sommerlinck, and former Parisian players Dominique Bathenay and Alain Roche.

* Paris Saint-Germain awards a Coupe de France title to a player who has participated in at least one match in the competition.

The keys to success...

There should be goals tonight at the Stade de France: with 156 goals conceded against Paris Saint-Germain, Saint-Etienne have conceded more goals against the capital club than any other side, ahead of Lyon (154 goals) and Lens (146 goals).

The Parisian attack is also firing on all cylinders, having scored at least once in each of the club’s last 45 Coupe de France matches since the final lost to Lille (0-1) on 14 May 2011.

Paris Saint-Germain will be able to count on their Coupe de France serial scorer this season, Pablo Sarabia, who scored in each of the first five rounds this term. The Spain international has already beaten the club record held by Pedro Miguel Pauleta in the 2003-04 season (four consecutive matches).

The Parisian strikers are now approaching the 500-goal mark in the Coupe de France with a total of 496 goals in the competition since the club was founded in 1970.
