The Rouge-et-Bleu in Manchester

The Parisians flew to England this morning ahead of Wednesday's UEFA Champions League game with Manchester City.

THE FIRST GAME WON WITH brio

Our Rouge-et-Bleu brilliantly won the first meeting of the duo at the Parc des Princes. Idrissa Gueye's sublime shot opened the scoring early (8'), just one of the highlights of a majestic performance from the Senegal international. He completed 92% of his passes and won 100% of his duels to deservedly pick up the Player of the Match award.

Also, Leo Messi scored his first goal in a Rouge-et-Bleu shirt with a superb strike high into the net as the Parisians put an end to City's three-year, 18-game unbeaten run in the Champions League group stage.

LOTS AT STAKE

The capital club is second in Group A, one point behind City, and four ahead of Brugge.  The trip to England gives Mauricio Pochettino's men the chance to seal qualification for the Round of 16.

Paris qualify if…

  • They win at the City of Manchester Stadium;
  • They draw and Brugge don't beat Leipzig;
  • Paris and Brugge both lose.

Both teams come into the game with confidence after good wins at the weekend: Paris defeating Nantes 3-1 while City disposed of Everton 3-0.

With top spot in the section up for grabs, it's going to be a big night.

A BUSY DAY

The players arrived late morning, and have a busy day ahead of them.

Mauricio Pochettino and Marco Verratti will face the media in the pre-match press conference at 6.15pm before the squad has a training session on the City of Manchester Stadium pitch.

You can follow both events on PSG TV.

Sergio Ramos in the squad

Having arrived at Paris Saint-Germain this summer, Sergio Ramos has been called into the squad for the first time. After working his way back to full fitness, the Parisian number 4 could make his debut.

ThE U19s in the youth league

Zoumana Camara and his players might have started slowly, but have since picked up steam to move to the top of Group A. Having done that, they now need to kick on with Brugge currently level on points.

The first game with City ended 1-1 and was a hotly contested affair with City finishing with nine men.

If they win on Wednesday, Camara's squad will be in a great position to go through. You can follow the game on 24 November at 4pm CEST on the official UEFA website.
