The Parisians' season in stats!

As Paris Saint-Germain's 2020-2021 season is officially over so let's look at the club from the capital's key numbers in the three competitions...

14

By winning the final against AS Monaco at the Stade de France, the club from the capital lifted their 14th Coupe de France. They were already the record holders of most victories in the competitions and Paris Saint-Germain carried on their incredible performance in the oldest of tournaments! In fact Paris have won 40 of their last 42 matches in Coupe de France. The only exceptions were in the final against Rennes in 2019 (2-2 after extra time and 5-6 on penalties) and in their semi final against Montpellier this year (2-2, 6-5 on penalties).

By giving another assist for Kylian Mbappé against Monaco Angel Di Maria once more broke a record! The n°11 became the best passer in the club's history. The Argentine overtook Safet Susic, with 103 passes.

2 is the number of trophies that Paris Saint-Germain added to the cabinet in this  2020-21 season
It's important to note that during the Classique against Olympique de Marseille, Paris won their 10th Trophée des Champions and their 8th in a row, a difficult task to equal!

10

In the league, the last win of the season against Brest (0-2) wasn't enough to beat Lille who won the title by a point... The club finishes in second place. By finishing second in Ligue 1 2020/21, Paris did end a 10th season in a row in the top flight in the top two spots (7x champion and 3x second).

27

In this crazy season from a stats point of view in which he scored 42 times in all competitions, Kylian Mbappé was once more on form. The France international scored an impressive 27 goals, becoming the first player in years to have been top scorer in three consecutives seasons when Jean-Pierre Papin did it (5 times between 1987/88 and 1991/92). This season he also became the youngest player to reach 100 Ligue 1 goals at 22 years, 3 months and 1 day (in the match against Lyon). And to end it off, by scoring against Brest the n°7 can say that he has scored against 25 of the 26 teams he's faced in Ligue 1, the only exception being... Paris!

By eliminating Bayern Munich who were defending champions of the UEFA Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain made a statement. First by beating them away from home they ended their unbeaten run in the Champions League that had been going for over two years dating back to 13 March 2019, against Liverpool (1-3). The European champions hadn't lost in 19 games in Europe.
Then, by qualifying for the semi finals, Paris booked their ticket in the last 4 of the Champions League for the third time after 1995 and 2020 – only Monaco has done better as a French club (4 times).

Sometimes, luck isn't with the Parisians! As the Parisians were top of  a large majority of ther league's statistics notably the most possession in Ligue 1 (63.3%) and the best pass accuracy (89.5%), they are also the team who've hit the woodwork most, having hit it 24 times! But Paris only conceded 2 penalties in the top flight in 2020/21, no other team conceded fewer.

54

Paris could once more count on a fantastic goalkeeper this season! In fact in the Champions League, Keylor Navas made 54 saves in 2020-21, the most of any goalkeeper since 2011-12 with Petr Cech at Chelsea (58). In Ligue 1, he was also named best keeper of the season at the UNFP awards, an award that shows just how good the Costa Rica international is. He also has the best save percentage in the league (80,4%).

There were some fantastic free-flowing games this season but one was higher scoring than all of them. On 2 October at the Parc des Princes, Paris scored 6 goals against Angers, the most goals by a team in Ligue 1 this season.

346

Marquinhos made his way  into the top 5 for most appearances for Paris Saint-Germain (323), Marco Verratti became the 3rd most capped player in the club's history.
