Stats & Facts: the win over Maccabi Haifa

Match in numbers

Check out the key numbers from the big UEFA Champions League Matchday 5 win.

ATTACK ON SONG

Paris equalled their record of goals scored in a European game with the 7-2 win. It's the fourth time they have achieved the feat after netting seven vs. Rosenborg (7-2, UEFA Champions League, 2000), Gent (7-1, Intertoto Cup, 2001) and Celtic (7-1, UEFA Champions League, 2017).

Paris Saint-Germain now have two entries in the 'most prolific games' chart in the competition: 7-2 against Rosenborg in 2000, and the win over Maccabi Haifa by the same scoreline

TRIO ON FIRE

It's the fourth time Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr all score in the same game for Paris, and the second against Haifa this season.

Named Player of the Match, Lionel Messi (11 goals, 12 assists) is the only man to have reached double figures in both categories across European top five leagues. It's the first time the Argentina international has been involved in four goals in a single Paris match (2 goals, 2 assists).

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner scored his 23rd goal from outside the box in the UEFA Champions League, and his fourth since making his Rouge-et-Bleu debut in 2021, the most of any player over that period.

Kylian Mbappé has now been involved in 61 goals in 58 UEFA Champions League games (39 goals, 22 assists) since his competition debut in 2016/17. It's the second-best tally over that period behind Robert Lewandowski (69), and equal with Lionel Messi.

QUALIFIED

Paris are through to the knockout stages for the 13th time in the Club's history, the best tally for a French club, and one ahead of Olympique Lyonnais.

But coach Christophe Galtier still wants his team to go for top spot against Juventus on Matchday 6: "I insist on it that even though we are already through, we have to go out to get first place in the group in Turin."

ZAÏRE-EMERY, a RECORD

By replacing Vitinha with 11 minutes left, Warren Zaïre-Emery became the first player born in 2006 to play in the UEFA Champions League. He became the first player born that year to play in Ligue 1 in August during the 5-0 win against Clermont Foot 63.

He's also the youngest Paris Saint-Germain player to make a UEFA Champions League appearance aged 16 years and seven months, lowering the previous mark held by Tanguy Kouassi at 17 years and six months.

CENTURY UP FOR QSI

The game marked the 100th UEFA Champions League fixture under QSI with a record of 57 wins and 218 goals scored. Mbappé has struck 33 of those, followed by Edinson Cavani (30) and Neymar Jr (22).

CEO and Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaïfi told Canal+ : "It's the 100th Champions League game for QSI tonight, we're very proud of that. We're here and we continue our project. One hundred matches, a 7-2 win, it's not bad!"
