Having not found the back of the net against Nice, the capital club failed to score in a Coupe de France game for the first time since the 1-0 loss to Lille in the final of the 2011 edition. After being knocked out of the competition, Paris Saint-Germain will be absent from the final for the first time since 2014. The last time that they were eliminated at the last-16 stage dates back to 4th March 2009, when they lost 3-1 to Rodez after extra time. On Monday night, Les Rouge et Bleu took part in their first home penalty shootout since 10th February 2002 against Marseille (1-1, 7-6 on pens), which was also in the last 16 of the Coupe de France, almost 20 years ago to the day. Last night's shootout was incidentally the 26th in the club's history across all competitions, with Paris going through in 15 of them and being knocked out in 11.

After being given a starting place in the Rouge et Bleu midfield, Marco Verratti once again showed off his talent against Les Aiglons. The Italy international played 48 successful passes in the final third – a record for a Paris player in a competitive fixture this season.

200TH GAME FOR MBAPPÉ

By coming on in the 64th minute in place of Mauro Icardi, Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappé reached the symbolic milestone of 200 competitive fixtures with the capital club. Since his arrival in 2017, the World Cup winner has taken part in 127 matches in Ligue 1 (with 101 goals and 34 assists), 20 in the Coupe de France (22 goals and eight assists), nine in the Coupe de la Ligue (two goals and five assists), two Trophées des Champions (one goal) and 42 in the UEFA Champions League (25 goals and 19 assists).
