TWELFTH MAN, TWELFTH QUALIFICATION!

Spurred on by almost 4,000 Parisian fans in the away end at the BvB Stadion Dortmund, the Rouge et Bleu booked their place in the last 16 of the competition with a draw in Germany. In doing so, the club from the capital qualified for the knockout phase of the UEFA Champions League for the 12th consecutive season (since the 2012-2013 season). Only Real Madrid CF (21) and FC Bayern Munich (16), two potential opponents of the Rouge et Bleu in the next round, are currently doing better.

a winning return for zaïre-emery

Back in the red and blue starting line-up after playing 30 minutes against Nantes, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery scored the equaliser, the first goal of his young career in the UEFA Champions League, and was voted player of the match. At the time of his goal, at the age of 17 years and 280 days, the youngster became the youngest French player to score in the competition, overtaking Karim Benzema (17 years and 352 days in December 2005 with Lyon against Rosenborg). A record broken just a few minutes later by George Ilenikhena with Royal Antwerp FC against Barcelona (17 years and 119 days).

IT'S TIME FOR THE YOUNGSTERS!

Just like with their number 33, Paris Saint-Germain fielded a team on Wednesday with an average age of 24 years and 260 days old. It is quite simply the youngest starting eleven for the club from the capital in a UEFA Champions League match since 14th February 2001 against AC Milan (24 years and 85 days).
