Sergio Ramos, a true champion
Paris Saint-Germain salutes Sergio Ramos, who is set to leave the capital after two seasons in the club's colours. With the Red & Blue, the Spaniard added two Ligue 1 titles and a Trophée des Champions to his exceptional list of honours.
Born in Camas, Andalusia, Sergio Ramos wrote the first lines of his story at Sevilla, his formative club, before moving to Madrid, the Spanish capital, where he remained for 16 years.
Over the seasons, Ramos established himself as one of the best defenders in the world, scoring 101 goals in 671 appearances in all competitions. Captain of Real Madrid between 2015 and 2021, he helped his team win 4 Champions League titles between 2014 and 2018 and La Liga on 5 occasions (2007, 2008, 2012, 2017 and 2020).
With the Spanish national team, he has also enjoyed success: Euro 2008, World Cup 2010, Euro 2012... Ramos has won the most prestigious trophies. Scorer of 23 goals for his national team, he remains, 18 years after his debut, the most capped player in the history of La Roja, with 180 caps.
After arriving in Paris on 8 July 2021, "SR4", a true professional, has brought experience, discipline and a competitive spirit, driven by a sense of sacrifice and a hunger to win everything. In 57 matches, the man regarded as one of the best defenders of all time scored 5 goals for Paris Saint-Germain - including his first on 23 January 2022 in the league against Stade de Reims. From 28 November 2021 to 1 January 2023, he remained unbeaten with the club, going 34 games without defeat. Another record.
