Thomas Tuchel: 'We were always in it together'

Check out the initial reactions from Les Parisiens following their side's victory over Borussia Dortmund (2-0), which secured qualification for the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Thomas Tuchel (Paris Saint-Germain coach)
"It was really extraordinary. On the bus, it was strong, it really motivated us, it gave us confidence. The team began to sing together, it was good and exactly the type of atmosphere we needed before a big match with lots of pressure on us. I really hoped that we were going to be able to take this atmosphere, and this spirit onto the pitch and the team did it. I am very happy. The match? There were periods where we suffered together, including Sarabia, Cavani, Mbappé and Neymar! I felt that we were always in it together and that we were also able to be dangerous. We are very happy."

Juan Bernat (Paris Saint-Germain defender)
"Every year went by and I still hadn't scored in the Champions League. And what a moment to do it today, when the team needed it to be more comfortable. We needed to remain focused, we needed to battle with this team. It was a bit different without our fans in the stadium, but all of the fans outside the ground gave us that additional strength. They deserved this qualification. We couldn't have asked for more."

Thilo Kehrer (Paris Saint-Germain defender)
"We are happy to have incredible supporters, who follow us with their hearts, all the way. Even though they weren't in the stadium with us, we were together in spirit, we could feel that. Even before the match, when we arrived on the bus, it was really incredible, it really pushed us on. It was different from usual but during the warm-up we could see the screens, we heard the noise. This support is unique! We could feel it within the squad, we needed to give our all in order to win. We did so and we are happy to have qualified for the quarter finals. The pressure? Yes, the pressure was there, but amongst ourselves, as a team, with the coaching staff, we worked calmly and were confident in ourselves. We had the quality to win. We knew what we needed to do and we did it."

Presnel Kimepmbe (Paris Saint-Germain defender)
"We all realised that we needed to give our lives on the pitch tonight, because the fans were all behind us, and despite being played behind closed doors, we could really feel their presence. It's a moment that will remain etched in our memories. We want to thank them tonight, it was important for us and especially for them. They were disappointed not to be able to be there, to cheer us on and to celebrate with us. But this qualification, it's also for them. They pushed us on throughout the match from outside the ground. The moment with the fans after the match was really great. There was a lot of emotion."
