Paris stands with Sergio Rico

On the final day of the 2022–2023 Ligue 1 season, against Clermont, the entire Paris Saint-Germain family came together to give its support to Sergio Rico.

While Paris Saint-Germain were crowned French champions for a record 11th time in their history, the focus of this evening was on supporting Sergio Rico. Ahead of the game, a giant tarp with the message "#ÁnimoSergioRico" on it was spread across the centre circle.

Dominique Rocheteau, a French title winner with Paris in 1986, and Nordi Mukiele, who won his first league title this season, were guests on pre-match show Kickoff and both spared a thought for Sergio.

In addition, all of his teammates wore a kit in honour of the Spanish keeper during the warm-up. Just before the players made their way onto the pitch, the Virage Auteuil unfurled a giant banner in the form of a shirt with Sergio's name on it and sung his name for several minutes.

Then, in the 16th minute of the game, the Parc was overcome with emotion as Sergio Ramos opened the scoring and dedicated his goal to his namesake, followed by a minute's applause from the entire stadium, including the players, both sets of fans and everyone else watching on.

Finally, Les Parisiens again spared a thought for their teammate as they received the Ligue 1 trophy on the pitch, a title dedicated to Sergio Rico.
