Nkunku: 'We want to win everything'

Paris Saint-Germain youth academy graduate Christopher Nkunku looked back at the 2018-19 Ligue 1 triumph.

Christopher, what does it represent to a Parisian 'Titi' to win the Ligue 1 title for the third time?
"Winning the league means we were consistently good all season. We made a great start to the championship and earn a maximum of points. With a new coach and coming off the World Cup, you might have thought we would struggle a bit, but it was quite the contrary. Our biggest strength was that everyone was involved and focused. Perhaps we stepped off the gas a little in the final matches of the season but we still won back to back titles and that shows that we had a great Ligue 1 campaign. Everyone says it's easy... but it's not..."

You started the campaign with a win over Monaco in the Trophée des Champions in China...
"It's an important match because there's a trophy to be won. We want to win everything, so no matter who's on the field, we do our best to win it. We won 4-0 and it was the perfect way to launch our season."

What does the club need to do to keep progressing?
"We need to to stay focused and call it straight when things aren't going our way. We have to be honest with ourselves and keep working. Above all, we have to communicate, it's so important, and the team will keep progressing automatically."

What are your future goals with Paris Saint-Germain?
"To keep winning the championship - that's the hardest trophy to win. I also want to win back the Coupe de France and the Coupe de la Ligue, that slipped away this year. As for the Champions League; try and do better than this year and why not try and go all the way."
