Milan Skriniar: "We get energy from our supporters at every match"
The Paris Saint-Germain has done an interview in which he discusses how he has adapted and the relationship between the team and the supporters.
Milan, firstly, how are you?
"I feel really good. Finally I'm where I wanted to be, and I've worked really hard for it."
What do you think of the team's style and the coach's approach?
"We have our way of playing. We want to have the ball and control the game. It's the ideal style of play because when you have possession, your opponent can't attack, they need to press and run without the ball to try and win it back. It's a style of play that I really like and I think we do it well."
How is your integration into the team going, especially playing alongside Marqui?
"Marquinhos also speaks Italian so we've understood each other since day one. For me, he's one of the best central defenders in the world and I'm not just saying that because I play with him, I already thought this before coming here. In any case, we get on really well which is a really good thing."
You're discovering Ligue 1, do you find it really different to Serie A ?
"In ligue 1, there are a lot of strong players, quick players, physical players. That's the main real difference with Italy. In Serie A, it's perhaps more tactical whereas here there are more one-on-ones against strong players, so it's not easy to deal with. "
So, it's a completely different approach...
"When other teams play Paris Saint-Germain, you often get the impression that it's as if they're playing in a World Cup final. But we have to be prepared for that because I think we have one of the best teams in the world."
And you can feel that there's been a real osmosis with the fans since the start of the season...
"Of course, we feel their support, we get energy from our supporters at every match. They're always with us. Even when we lost to Nice, they applauded us. It's really great for us, because the connection between a team and its supporters is something that's very important and we feel really good when we play in front of them."
