How Paris Saint-Germain's internationals fared
Seventeen Paris Saint-Germain players played for their respective national teams during this international week. Here's a round-up of the results!
WARREN ZAÏRE-EMERY / BRADLEY BARCOLA / RANDAL KOLO MUANI - FRANCE
A France side featuring Warren Zaïre-Emery, Bradley Barcola and Randal Kolo Muani finished top of their Nations League group! After a 0-0 draw with Israel at the Stade de France, Les Bleus went on to beat Italy 3-1 at the San Siro. France will contest the quarter-finals of the competition next spring during the March international break.
GIANLUIGI DONNARUMMA - ITALY
The Paris goalkeeper did not play in the match against France, but he was in goal for Italy in the 1-0 win in Belgium a few days earlier. The Squadra Azzurra have also qualified for the Nations League quarter-finals.
NUNO MENDES / JOÃO NEVES / VITINHA - PORTUGAL
Nuno Mendes, João Neves and Vitinha's Portugal first crushed Poland 5-1 before sharing the points with Croatia (1-1). The Portuguese are top of their group and will be a aprt of the Nations League quarter-finals next spring. Vitinha was particularly outstanding during this break, with several assists to his name.
FABIAN RUIZ - SPAIN
There were two victories for Fabian Ruiz's Roja, who trumped Denmark 2-1 before beating Switzerland 3-2. The Spaniards thus ended the group stage unbeaten and go through to the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals.
MILAN SKRINIAR - SLOVAKIA
After losing 2-1 in Sweden, Milan Skriniar and Slovakia went on to beat Estonia 1-0. The Paris defender and his team-mates will also be at the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals in March.
ACHRAF HAKIMI - MOROCCO
Achraf Hakimi‘s Morocco won two high-profile matches, the first against Gabon (5-1) and the second against Lesotho (7-0), the latter without Achraf, as part of the qualifiers for the impending 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
MARQUINHOS - BRAZIL
In the AMSUD zone qualifying phase for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Brazil played out two 1-1 draws, first against Venezuela and then at home against Uruguay. Brazil are currently fifth in the standings.
WILLIAN PACHO - ECUADOR
There were two victories for Willian Pacho's Ecuador, who first beat Bolivia 4-0 at home before winning 1-0 in Colombia. The Paris Saint-Germain centre-back wore the national team's captain's armband for the first time! Ecuador are third in the CONMEBOL qualifying standings for the World Cup.
LEE KANG-IN - SOUTH KOREA
With the 2026 World Cup in their sights, South Korea first won 3-1 in Kuwait before drawing 1-1 with Palestine. Lee Kang-In and his fellow Koreans are top of their group!
DÉSIRÉ DOUÉ - FRANCE U21
There were two draws for Désiré Doué's Bleuets, against Italy (2-2) and Germany (also 2-2), coming from behind on both occasions. Two dramatic friendly matches that saw the Parisian midfielder feature heavily!
