Mauricio Pochettino: ‘Continue to move forward’
On the eve of Matchday 28 of Ligue 1 between Paris Saint-Germain and Bordeaux, Mauricio Pochettino answered questions from the press.
MORALE
“The players are very disappointed, it’s a dream to play in the Champions League, and the possibility of winning it. After the match, it was very difficult, but we now need to focus on Bordeaux, with the objective of winning the club’s 10th league title. We need to keep that in mind and never give up.”
The MATCH against BORDEAUX
“It will obviously be a difficult match after what happened to us this week. But we need to be professional. The most important thing is to put in an excellent performance, we need to focus on the three points and continue to move forward. We need to be strong and play together in order to beat Bordeaux. We will need to bring a lot of energy across the team, we will need to be really good.”
The end of the season
“Everybody within the club was extremely disappointed. We had some difficult times, but that’s to be expected. The responsibility is to finish the season in the best way possible, but we understand the disappointment of our supporters.”
The MOTIVATION
“I think that the whole team is suffering. But we need to have the motivation in order to move forward. There is still work to be done for us, we need to secure the league title, our 10th. That’s motivation enough for us to get back out there and give our all. Wearing this shirt is a responsibility and it will be important to find that desire tomorrow, even though a win against Bordeaux won’t be a consolation.”
The youngsters
“There will be youngsters in the squad tomorrow, but it is important that the others can get out onto the pitch and get rid of their frustration. We need to be able to move on.”
