Marco Verratti: 'We love this cup'

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder gave the press his thoughts ahead of Friday's Coupe de la Ligue final meeting with Lyon at the Stade de France

SAINT-ÉTIENNE

"I'd spoken to the coach before last week's final. He made decision to try and win the game, and there is always the chance you are on the bench. Everyone wants to play finals, but I respect the decisions. Leandro played really well against Saint-Etienne and I'm very happy for the team."

THE MATCH

"Football is a contact sport. In the last few months, the preparation has been different. No-one is afraid of getting injured. It's an important match with a trophy up for grabs, and we want to win the game."

THE COUPE DE LA LIGUE

"It's an objective for us, because we want to win everything. We're in the final and we'll do everything to win. We have played a lot of finals and we love this cup."

LYON

"We're happy to play against Lyon, who are a very good team. We know they're talented, and we can expect a good final between two good teams. We're not thinking about Atalanta yet, the most important game is tomorrow's one."

MBAPPÉ

"We were sad for him. When we lifted the trophy, we spared a thought for him. But injuries are part of football. A player like Kylian would be missed by anyone. But he's someone who keeps smiling and is always happy. He's calm and is going to work hard to get back as soon as possible."
