Verratti on the podium of most-capped players

In playing his 344th match in all competitions for the club from the capital in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals against Manchester City (1-2) on Wednesday 28 April at the Parc des Princes, the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder made it into the top 3 most-capped players to have played in the red and blue shirt.

Since arriving in Paris in 2012, the Italy international has played 222 Ligue 1 matches (5 goals), 25 in the Coupe de France (1 goal), 23 in the Coupe de la Ligue, 8 Trophées des Champions and 66 UEFA Champions League ties (3 goals) for Les Rouge et Bleu. In doing so, he makes it onto the podium of most-capped Paris Saint-Germain players, equalling Safet Susic (1982-1991) and Paul Le Guen (1991-1998).

Marquinhos became the Brazilian to have played the most number of matches for the club from the capital, one match ahead of his former teammate Thiago Silva (2012-2020). Arriving in Paris in 2013, the club captain and goalscorer on Wednesday evening has played 200 Ligue 1 matches (15 goals), 27 in the Coupe de France (3 goals), 20 in the Coupe de la Ligue (2 goals), 5 Trophées des Champions and 64 matches in the UEFA Champions League (9 goals) for Les Rouge et Bleu.
