The Brazilian international is only the 3rd player to score in the quarter-finals and the semi-finals of 2 consecutive editions of the competition, after Cristiano Ronaldo (2011-2012, 2012-2013 and 2013-2014) and Antoine Griezmann (2015-2016 and 2016-2017).

Provider of the assist for the Marquinhos goal, the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Angel Di Maria delivered his 103rd assist for the capital club in all competitions. The Argentinian international equalled the record for a Rouge et Bleu bleu, co-held now with Safet Susic (1982-1991). The Paris number 11 has 10 assists in the UEFA Champions League, more than any other player.

As well as scoring the Paris goal, the Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos played his 316th competitive match for the capital club, becoming the Brazilian to have played the most games in Rouge et Bleu history, 1 ahead of his former team-mate Thiago Silva (2012-2020). Since coming to France in 2013, the Paris number 5  has played 200 Ligue 1 matches (15 goals), 27 in the Coupe de France (3 goals), 20 in the Coupe de la Ligue (2 goals), 5 Trophées des Champions et 64 UEFA Champions League matches (9 goals) with Paris.

In playing his 344th competitive match for the capital club, the  Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti broke into the top 3 of the players with the most appearances with the rouge et bleu shirt on his back, equalling  Safet Susic (1982-1991) and Paul Le Guen (1991-1998). Only Jean-Marc Pilorget (435 matches between 1975 and 1989) and Sylvain Armand (380 matches between 2004 and 2013) have done better. Since coming to France in 2012, the Italian international has played 222 matches in Ligue 1 (5 goals), 25 in the Coupe de France (1 goal), 23 in the Coupe de la Ligue, 8 Trophées des Champions and 66 in the UEFA Champions League (3 goals) with Paris.
