Javier Pastore joins AS Roma

Paris Saint-Germain’s Argentinian midfielder Javier Pastore has transferred to Italian club Associazione Sportiva Roma.

Javier Pastore, 29, was Paris Saint-Germain’s first star signing of the QSI era in 2011.

The Argentina international (29 caps, 2 goals) made 269 appearances in all competitions for Les Rouge et Bleu, scoring 45 goals and providing 56 assists, making him one of the club’s all-time leading assist providers alongside the likes of Safet Susic and Mustapha Dahleb.

Over seven seasons with Paris Saint-Germain, ‘El Flaco’ won five Ligue 1 titles (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018), four Coupes de France (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), five Coupes de la Ligue (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) and four Trophées des champions (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017), while also featuring for Copa America finalists Argentina in 2015 and 2016.

During his time at the Club, Javier Pastore was named in the 2014-15 Ligue 1 Team of the Year after playing a major role in Paris Saint-Germain winning the first-ever quadruple in the history of French football.

Paris Saint-Germain thanks Javier for his professionalism, for the enthusiasm he has always shown for the club’s project, since 2011, and his class and elegance in representing the club both on and off the pitch.

"I will never forget the strong bonds that tie Javier Pastore, our first major international signing, to all those who love our Club,” declared Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Paris Saint-Germain Chairman and CEO. “Since his debut wearing our jersey, Javier’s superb technique and visionary passes enchanted the Parc des Princes, who have always reserved a special place in its heart for the most elegant of players. Javier will remain one of those players that shaped the identity of our team, our club, our project, both on a national and international level. He will always hold a special place in Paris Saint-Germain family. On behalf of the entire Club, I wish Javier a most successful and fulfilling return to Italy.
