Luis Enrique: "We're always looking to improve"

The Paris Saint-Germain coach answered questions from the media ahead of the match against Botafogo on Matchday 2 of the group phase of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, this Friday 20th June at 3am (in France, the day before at 6pm in California) at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, USA. Here are some extracts from the conferece.

EUPHORIA

"I think it's normal to be euphoric after winning the Champions League. Being European champions is no small thing, and it's normal to see everyone saying good things about us. It's nice to get compliments but we're always looking to improve, with confidence, as a team."

BOTAFOGO

"It's great to play against top teams. Botafogo have a great history and have won the Copa Libertadores this season. I'm sure that playing against us will be a great motivation for them. We're preparing as usual, we haven't changed much, even when we're playing against a top team. The preparation is the same. We'll have to be ready for every possible twist and turn during the match."

CONDITIONS

"All that matters is that we put on a good show for the people who come to the game against Botafogo. We want to keep improving as a team. That's our goal, every day."

"Seeing an African team against an Asian team makes a change, and it's interesting to compare the different styles of play. I'm not surprised by the good results of the South American teams, for example. Even if I haven't been able to watch all the matches in this competition, because I've got work to do at the same time, I find the opposing styles interesting. The important thing is to put on a show for people. That's what we're aiming to do, and we'll be doing it again against Botafogo on Thursday."
