Hakimi's Morocco join Tenas's Spain in the quarter-finals
Paris defender Achraf Hakimi's Morocco beat Iraq 3-0 today in the group stage of the men's Olympic football tournament at Paris 2024 to qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition. La Roja, with Paris goalkeeper Arnau Tenas, had already qualified for the next round but lost 2-1 to Egypt.

Having already booked their place in the quarter-finals of the competition with two wins from as many games, a reshuffled Spain team fell to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Egypt today. As a result, Santi Denia's players lost top spot in Group C to the Egyptians but will still play in the knockout phase.
