Paris Saint-Germain have already faced the Gym twice in the Coupe de France, in the 1977-1978 season. In the round of 32, the Rouge et Bleu lost in Nice (1-2, 18/02/1978) and then drew 3-3 in the return leg at the Parc des Princes (3-3 a.e.t., 26/02/1978), which led to the Aiglons qualifying.

A 0-0 draw against Les Aiglons in their last game in Paris was a rare occurrence for the Rouge et Bleu, who have once had a goalless draw at their home ground since February 2017 - 119 home games.
