a bit of history...

Episode 102 of the Classique! Only 4 clubs have played against Paris 100 times: Bordeaux (110 matches), Monaco (108 matches) and Lyon (104 matches), while OM will match Nantes (102 matches).
In terms of head-to-head meetings, the record is largely in the club from the capital's favour, with 45 wins, 23 draws and 33 defeats.

Since the start of 2012, ten years ago, the two teams have met 24 times in official matches, with an exceptional record in favour of the Rouge et Bleu: 19 wins, four draws and just one defeat, having scored 53 goals and only conceded 16.
It is also the 51st classique between Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille at the Parc des Princes. Only Bordeaux (55 matches) have played there more, OM will now be level Nantes (51 matches).

Since the 2010/2011 season, the two teams have faced each other on 14 occasions at the Parc des Princes, with a record of 12 wins, one draw and only one defeat for the Parisians, last season with a team decimated by Covid-19 (0-1, 13 September 2020).
Only three goals have been scored by Marseille in the last 12 official matches at the Parc des Princes: Michy Batshuayi on 4 October 2015, Valère Germain on 17 March 2019 and Florian Thauvin last season on 13 September 2020.

50 players - a record for Paris Saint-Germain - have played for both clubs: Fabrice Abriel, Jerome Alonzo, Andre Luiz, Jocelyn Angloma, William Ayache, Djamel Belmadi, Hatem Ben Arfa, Sarr Boubacar, Daniel Bravo, François Brisson, Zoumana Camara, Lorik Cana, Benoit Cauet, Édouard Cissé, Patrick Colleter, Lassana Diarra, Stéphane Dalmat, Marcel De Falco, Frédéric Déhu, Jean-Pierre Destrumelle, Kaba Diawara, Jean Djorkaeff, Jean-Pierre Dogliani, Fabrice Fiorèse, Laurent Fournier, Bruno Germain, Xavier Gravelaine, Gabriel Heinze, Thierry Laurey, Jean-Louis Leonetti, Yvon Le Roux, Jérôme Leroy, Claude Lowitz, Peter Luccin, Peguy Luyindula, Claude Makélélé, Florian Maurice, Modeste M'Bami, Fabrice Moreau, Michel N'Gom, Bruno Ngotty, Pascal Nouma, Jacki Novi, Ilija Pantelic, Bernard Pardo, Cyril Pouget, Alain Roche, Jean-Pierre Tokoto, George Weah and Daniel Xuereb. Mattéo Guendouzi has never played for the Parisian first team.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is Paris' top scorer against Marseille with 11 goals. The Swedish international is ahead of Edinson Cavani (7 goals), Kylian Mbappé and Pedro Miguel Pauleta (6 goals).

what's at stake...

The Parisians are 12 points clear in Ligue 1 and could take another crucial step towards the title if they beat runners-up Marseille with seven games to go.
The Parisian club remains the only team this season unbeaten at home in Ligue 1. The Parisians have been unbeaten at the Parc des Princes five times in the league, in the 1985-1986, 1993-1994, 2014-2015, 2016-2017 and 2018-2019 seasons.

Such a record at the Parc des Princes after 15 matches played (14 wins and one draw) has only happened twice in the history of the Rouge et Bleu: in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 (15 wins).
The Parisians love playing OM, having scored 145 goals scored against Marseille. Only Saint-Étienne (167 goals), Lyon (161 goals), Lens (149 goals), Bordeaux (148) and Nantes (146) have conceded more against the Parisians.

the keys to the match...

Paris Saint-Germain will be able to count on Marquinhos, the Rouge et Bleu's lucky charm against Marseille, with a current unbeaten run of 16 matches (13 wins and three draws) in official games between the two clubs.
If he plays at the Parc des Princes, Marco Verratti could make classique history by appearing against Marseille for the 19th time and overtaking Sylvain Armand, with whom he holds the record for the Rouge et Bleu.

Kylian Mbappé is in form! The Parisian striker has scored at least once in Paris Saint-Germain's last 5 matches at the Parc des Princes (Rennes, Real Madrid, Saint-Etienne, Bordeaux and Lorient). The club record is held by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, scoring in 7 consecutive home games in the 2013-2014 season.

The Parisian defence is also performing well and has only conceded two goals at the Parc des Princes in official matches since the beginning of 2022. In eight matches, the Parisians have found the net 19 times.
