Désiré Doué wins UNFP's Ligue 1 Player of the Month award for March
Paris Saint-Germain striker Désiré Doué has taken home the UNFP’s Ligue 1 Player of the Month award for March.
With 44% of the votes from visitors to TROPHEESUNFP.COM, the France international finished ahead of AS Monaco's Mika Biereth (38%) and club teammate Ousmane Dembélé (18%), who picked up the award in January. Meanwhile, not only is Doué the third Paris player to earn the distinction this season (following in the footsteps of Les Rouge et Bleu's no. 10 as well as September's winner Bradley Barcola), but this is also the first time that the Angers native, who racked up three goals and two assists in four matches last month, has been named as the Ligue 1 Player of the Month in his career so far.
Furthermore, this is the 51st time that a Paris Saint-Germain player has been crowned with this title since the 2003–2004 season – the most of any team in the French top flight – thereby putting the capital club ahead of Olympique de Marseille (27 times), LOSC Lille (20 times) and Olympique Lyonnais (19 times).
