Danilo Pereira: 'Benfica have a really strong team'

The Portugal international discussed Matchday 3 of the UEFA Champions League group stage, which will be played against Benfica, during the traditional pre-match press conference.

The opposition

"I think Benfica's strengths are as a collective. They have a really strong team, with a good defence and a good attack. They have proved it with their results so far this season. They also have very good individuals who can make the difference on the pitch. It's a mix of youth and experience. It gives a certain energy to this team."

RENATO SANCHES

"I have known for a while that Renato wanted to come here. It was a match that he was looking forward to, but he is injured and unfortunately, he won't be able to be with us."

HIS role in the team

"I think it's always difficult to be a starter at a club like Paris Saint-Germain. We have lots of players of the highest level. The coach plays me at centre back and in midfield. I feel good everywhere. For me, the most important thing is the pleasure of playing."

his feelings before facing benfica?

"Benfica are a club that gave me the chance to be here today. Revenge isn't the word."

His development as a defender

"Playing in defence isn't a problem. I have played in all of the centre back positions, I don't have a preference. As I said, I enjoy playing. That's what I have wanted since the start of the season. No matter what position I play."

THe characteristics of portuguese footballers

"I think we are naturally happy, so it's easier to integrate into the squad. We like working, that makes life easier with whichever coach or player. These are our characteristics."
