Christophe Galtier: 'Topping the group is an objective for us'

Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier answered questions from the media ahead of the UEFA Champions League Matchday 6 clash with Juventus Turin at Juventus Stadium on Wednesday 2 November at 21:00. Excerpts.

THE BUZZ AROUND PARIS AND THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

"There is a lot of expectation in France and in Europe around Paris Saint-Germain. This expectation is legitimate given that we have a squad that is experienced and composed of world-class players. However, the Champions League is a difficult trophy to win, with at-times insane matches. I know that our club and the management are trying to do everything possible to one day win this trophy."

PRESNEL KIMPEMBE

"Presnel Kimpembe played last week in the Champions League as well as in the league. Physically, everything was fine, but he took a knock to a tendon that was already painful for him. This pain has been too much for him to be able play on Wednesday. On the other hand, there is nothing alarming about the other matches we have left to play."

TOP SPOT IN THE GROUP

"Of course, it's much nicer to get to the last game of the group stage and to have already qualified. Qualification was obviously compulsory, and finishing in top spot in the group is an objective for us. We are Paris Saint-Germain and we have this sporting ambition. We've talked about it with the players, we're all focused on that. We know that Juventus can't qualify for the knockout rounds, but they will do everything to qualify for the Europa League. They are a very big club who will obviously want to play a good game."

THE PARISIAN STYLE OF PLAY

"We have player profiles and a way of playing that creates imbalance at times, with this constant desire to attack. On the other hand, I find that we sometimes lack intensity when we get the ball back. However, we showed that we knew how to pressure the ball carrier when we lost possession. From now on, we need to be more committed to winning the ball back."
