All you need to know about Paris Saint-Germain vs Borussia Dortmund!

Here's all you need to know about tonight's Champions League clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund at 9pm at the Parc des Princes:

A little history...

Tonight's match will be the fourth official meeting between the two sides. Before the first leg in Dortmund this season, the two sides met ten years ago in the UEFA Europa League group stage (1-1 in Germany 21/10/2010, 0-0 in France 04/11/2010).

Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund have also met twice in friendly matches, with Paris winning both games: in the inaugural edition of the Nike Cup in Dortmund (2-1, 16/07/1990) and at the Parc des Princes in the Tournoi de Paris (3-1, 26/07/1992).

Paris Saint-Germain have never lost against German opposition at the Parc des Princes: vs Bayern Munich 1994-1995 (2-0, UEFA Champions League), 1997-1998 (3-1, UEFA Champions League), 2000-2001 (1-0, UEFA Champions League) and 2017-2018 (3-0, UEFA Champions League), Wolsfburg in 2008-2009 (2-0, UEFA Cup), Bayer Leverkusen in 2013-2014 (2-1, UEFA Champions League) and Borussia Dortmund in 2010-2011 (0-0, UEFA Europa League), for six wins and one draw in seven matches.

Les Rouge et Bleu will also play the third match behind closed doors in their history after the wins over Bastia (1-0, 26/02/2005) and Boulogne-sur-Mer (3-0, 28/03/2010).

2 players have played for both clubs: Christian Wörns and Abdou Diallo (Dan Axel Zagadou never made a first team appearance for Paris Saint-Germain). Thomas Tuchel coached both clubs.

Paris Saint-Germain will be playing in their 112th UEFA Champions League match, having won 60, drawn 22 and lost 29.

Les Parisiens will also be playing their 224th European match (116 wins, 52 draws and 54 losses). Against BVB Dortmund, Les Rouge et Bleu will overtake Olympique de Marseille (223 matches). Note: these figures include the European SuperCup but not the Intertoto Cup.

The stakes...

Paris Saint-Germain have qualified for the eighth time in a row for the last-16 of the UEFA Champions League since 2012-13, and will look to end a run of three consecutive eliminations at this stage of the competition.

Edinson Cavani is the club’s all-time leading scorer in Europe with 30 goals scored.

Les Rouge et Bleu have scored at least once in their last 26 Champions League matches, dating back to the 1-0 loss to Manchester City on 12 April 2016.

The keys to the match...

Paris Saint-Germain have always qualified in knockout ties against German opposition : vs Wolsfburg in 2008-09 (2-0 and 3-1, UEFA Cup) and Bayer Leverkusen in 2013-14 (2-1 and 4-0, UEFA Champions League).
