A full tank of confidence!

The key moments
On Saturday, there was - for a long time - the feeling that the football gods had decided to smile on the hosts. Layvin Kurzawa hit the crossbar (4'), the first of four occasions that the Stade Michel D'Ornano crowd would get to see the visitors do that. Ten minutes later, Enzo Crivelli did the same for the hosts (13'), before Marquinhos - captain for the day - struck the bar again (33') and Angel Di Maria had a shot touched onto a post by Brice Samba (36'). Add to that the goal ruled out for offside (23') that Di Maria scored and two chances for Kylian Mbappé that flew just wide (41', 44'), and PSG seemed cursed. Seventeen shots, six in the first 15 minutes, for Paris by the break, and - incredibly - no goals.

After the break, Casimir Ninga's goal seemed to suggest Paris' luck could be out (1-0, 56'), but in the space of three minutes, they were level - Mbappé tucking away his first-ever Ligue 1 penalty (1-1, 59'). Still, the visitors found their way to a second a tough road: Di Maria's header (61') struck a post - again - and Samba brilliantly kept out Leandro Paredes (83') only for an opportunistic Mbappé to save the day (1-2, 87') and lift his side 20 points clear at the top of the table.

A Parisian in the match: Kylian Mbappé
He may not have won the World Cup this evening, but the joy that followed his late winner made it look like he had. Mbappé's 24th league goal of the season (in 21 games) means he continues - like his club - to streak away at the top of the charts, and it completed his third brace of the campaign. For the fifth time this season, the Paris number 7 scored more than once in the same match, a feat no other player has achieved.

The word: Woodwork
Four times in the first half the woodwork trembled, the most in a L1 game for seven years. Di Maria was the most unfortunate, hitting it twice (36', 61').

Coming up
Anything goes on Wednesday, especially a touch of magic in Paris. After a superb first leg at Old Trafford and a 2-0 win, Paris Saint-Germain play host to Manchester United in four days' time (kick-off 21:00CET) for a potentially explosive UEFA Champions League Last 16 second leg. In addition to the scoreline, the capital club has the psychological edge in terms of history: they are unbeaten in their last six matches against an English club at the Parc des Princes (3 wins, 3 draws).
